The first Georgian female architect

Ketevan Sokolova-Kurdiani was born on January 15, 1905, in Tbilisi. She is the first Georgian woman architect to be active in public life until the end of her life. Ketevan's traditional Georgian vision can be seen in her buildings' numerous ornaments and decorative features. At the same time, her works often feel the slight inspiration and influence of the Soviet modernism characteristic of the period.

Ketevan owns projects such as the first tea factory in Chakvi, houses on Ilia Chavchavadze Avenue and Vakhushti Bagrationi Street, and other projects.

Ketevan Sokolova-Kurdiani died on August 26, 1988, at the age of 83. She made a significant contribution to the development of Georgian architecture and established herself in the history of Georgia.
